arundathiA graphic marvel on Telugu screen

Shyam Prasad Reddy is known for making choicest films without minding the budget or time. He shot into fame by producing 'Ammoru' in a never before manner by using computer graphics. The film was a big hit during those days. However, his film 'Anji' for which Chiranjeevi had allotted bulk dates like no other film, was also a technical marvel but it failed to be a commercial hit, despite the presence of heavy graphics. Without backtracking from his stance, Shyam Prasad Reddy and Kodi Ramakrishna once again teamed up and brought out another film by using extraordinary graphics. Moreover, they promoted a hitherto glamour heroine Anushka and made her to prove her acting talents. Anushka too did not let down their expectations and did complete justice to the title role.

fitting masterA vain attempt to 'fit' comedy in revenge drama

EVV Satyanarayana is not only a good director but also a good producer with good taste. No doubt, he is famous for comedy films, but whenever he produces a film, he used to ensure some message in most of his movies. He maintained the same tradition for his latest movie 'Fitting Master' too. In order to cash in on Allari Naresh's image, EVV titled the film as 'Fitting Master'. There are only a couple of scenes, that too were intentionally kept to justify the title, but basically the director made an attempt to bring out a suspense and action drama which did not gel well with a comedy hero.

maskaRam appears very energetic in 'Maska'

Ram was introduced to the Telugu film industry as hero by YVS Coudary. He showed excellent ease in all the departments like, dance, fights and comedy timing in 'Devadasu'. However, his next film was proved a dud. After breaking the second film jinx, he regained his glory with the success of 'Ready'. With the same success spirit, he gave an energetic performance all through the film of MS Raju, with a commitment to give a big commercial hit to the producer, who was almost in losses. The entire unit worked like war horses and the novel combination proved that their expectations were correct and it came out as a complete commercial and mass entertainer.

indumathiA suspense thriller with sudden twists

Harsha P Reddy, an NRI, who has penchant to make films made his debut as a producer with a film 'Andaru Dongale'. However, that film failed to attract the audiences and proved a dud commercially. True to the saying that a long-time patient is better than a doctor, Harsha Reddy learnt about film-making and other loopholes as a producer. He prepared a story which is a suspense thriller with an inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock. Moreover, the success of films like Mantra and Anasuya which were based on suspense prompted him to choose the subject. At the same time, such films do not need star artistes and no big sets and could be wrapped up with a meagre budget. All these factors prompted. Hence Harsha Reddy had decided to direct a film on his own.

sasirekha parinayamUnworthy film from a worthy director

Though Krishnavamsi had several hits to his credit, his success ratio had come down drastically with successive failures. At a time when everyone is thinking that the creativity of the creative director is disappearing, he recreated his magic and proved his calibre by bringing out a family drama like 'Chandamama'. It came out as a fantastic blockbuster giving much relief to his failure record. Keeping the success of a romantic and feel good drama, Krishnavamsi tried another love subject. However, the unexpected and unwanted twists made the film boring right before the interval bang till the climax.

mental KrishnaPoor directorial ability tested audiences' patience

After all, people spend their time by going to a film theatre for entertainment. Of course, there are some other category people, who also look for some novelty, action and sentiment. However, days have gone where the people make their eyes wet by watching the heroine crying on the screen and feel sad for her problems and other situations. Writer-turned-director Posani Krishnamurali might have been under the impression that making the heroine cry would be different from routine and the people would throng the theatres to watch a heroine for performance. However, his ideas were proved miserably wrong and it boomeranged with people outrightly rejecting the idea from the first day first show by branding the film as a super flop.

kingKing makes the audience popper:

Srinu Vytla is a hat trick director and his films like Dhee and Ready have done exceedingly well at the box office. He now comes up with a new film titled King and the cast Yuva Samrat, King Nagarjuna in the lead and the glamorous hero-ine Trisha has been paired up opposite him. The film has all the mass elements but the slow pace of narration and too many twists and turns affect the overall impact of the movie.

cheduguduA sheer waste of money

It is not known why some producers invest their valuable money in films which neither give entertainment nor have any commercial values. When a film is being made for the debut of a film personality, minimum precautions needed to be taken. In the absence of a gripping story, a director who could elevate the hero to gain an image of his own, making of a film is nothing but further throwing the debutant hero into depression. In a nutshell, the film 'Chedugudu' has all these above qualities. Even there is no justification for the title.

Another teenage love on Telugu screen

Ravibabu had a penchant to bring out love stories in different angle. Take 'Allari' for instance. He mixes innocence with love and bring out nice subject. He got a very good producer like Ramoji Rao and after a long gap, Usha Kiron Movies agreed to produce a film as its 81st production and it materialised as 'Nachavule'. The director's job has become further challenging as all the characters in the film were played by debutants. But the film was pleasantly presented on the screen.

NenintheA movie about the travails in film industry

Several films have come on the Telugu screen about film-making and the travails of the artistes and technicians in the film industry. However, director Puri Jagannath in association with his hattrick ('Itlu Sravani Subrahmanyam, Idiot and Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi) hero Raviteja once again tried to explain them with some salt (love) and pepper (action). Moreover, the producer bagged hits both with the hero (Raviteja in Krishna) and with the director (Puri Jagannath with Desamuduru). So the successful combination brought out another hit.

kuberuluDon't look for logic to watch the film

The combination of Sivaji and Srinivasa Reddy had two hits to its credit like 'Adirindayya Chandram and Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila'. In fact, Sivaji who had no notable hits to his credit but his alliance with the director made him to earn an image of a comedy hero. Ali and Krishna Bhagawan who also got promotion as heroes now joined hands with this combination to bring out yet another entertainer. The storyline, plot and the movement are not very new to the Telugu audiences. But the director made efforts to serve an old wine in a new bottle. The film earned a divided talk after the first show. While some say that it is an okay film, a few others say it has nothing much to talk about.
