This 17 year old young actress from Jharkhand acted in Ram Gopal Varma’s Darna Zaroori Hai before making her entrance to Telugu Cinema (Kotha Bangaru Lokam).

She received Indian National Film Award for best child artist in 2003. Shweta Basu Prasad got popular with Kotha Bangaru Lokam and also her variety dialogs in the movie brought her good fame.

Shweta is much popular among teenagers and the younger generation.
