NTR and Chiranjeevi are the Top heroes during their times. Now that Chiranjeevi's time is up we wonder who will be the next top hero. Lets take a look at the present young heroes and analyze who has the potential to become the superstar of Telugu Cinema.

A Superstar is someone who is unbeatable, who is an idol to the people and who should be really cautious to do wrong things on the screen fearing that people might just follow him to do the same wrong things in reality. There should never be an argument on who is the best.

To our analysis we believe that

• the 'Mass' is going to make a superstar and not the 'Class'. As it is the Mass that worships a hero and it is the Mass that fights for the hero.

• A hero who does the loveboy roles is never going to be a superstar.

• A hero who does a variety of roles with emphasis on social elements has a great chance to become a superstar.

The popular young heroes in telugu right now are Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, NTR Jr, Allu Arjun, Prabhas, Ravi Teja, Gopichand and upcoming heroes like Ram Charan Teja, Naga Chaitanya. Among all these heros there are only three heros in the race to become the superstar. They are none other than 'The Prince', 'The Power Star' and 'The Young Tiger'

The Power Star (Pawan Kalyan):
Pawan Kalyan is considered to be the most talented among all three for his creativity and his invlovement in the direction. That's his greatest strength but too much involvement (directing Johnny 2003) has pulled his career to a level where he is still trying to clear those effects. Telugu Cinema is just hoping for his comeback and is waiting for a film like 'Kushi'. His upcoming film 'Puli' has created a lot of hype and we will have to wait and see how it comes out to be.
Pawan has enough backing from his brother Chiranjeevi, Chinranjeevi Fans and from producer Allu Arvind. So even if a series of movies fail at box-office he can still be seen as a hero.
If Pawan Kalyan can use his talent, his acting skills and his home production to comeup with a series of good movies like he did at the begining of his career (Tholi Prema, Thammudu, Badri, Kushi) he can beat the other two and has the potential to be the number one.

The Young Tiger (NTR):
NTR has the features from his grandfather which is the greatest asset he has and he acts and dances perfectly. He came to the top position in a short period of time and he is still young close to 10 years younger than the other two. NTR's Simhadri took him to a new level and was even considered a threat to Chiranjeevi at that time. Simhadri beat Chiranjeevi's Tagore at box-office when both were released in the same year. But bad choice of movies and the series of flops pulled him back to a regular young hero position. His last two movies Yama Donga and Kantri were hits but nothing like Simhadri.
NTR's dances and the dialogue delivery will attract the Mass better than the other two heros. He is the only one that is closest to delivering dialogs like his grandfather in the whole telugu cinema history. He is in this position just after acting for 7 years compared to 9 (Mahesh) and 12 (Pawan Kalyan). With no backing and being still young (just 25) it is really hard for NTR to make the right choice of movies and If NTR can make the right decisions he will be unbeatable.

The Prince (Mahesh Babu):
Mahesh Babu is undoubtedly at the top position right now with his recent blockbuster Pokiri. Mahesh has the looks, the style and a natural dialog delivery. His next film hasn't started yet but it is all over the news and that is one of the qualities of a Super Star. Mahesh has both Mass and the Class following equally and to his extra credit he has the female following. (Shobhan Babu and Nagarjuna are the only other heros who had female following but never had a great Mass following). So Mahesh is an all-rounder and also has a good backing from his sister and father.
Using Mahesh's voice in Pawan Kalyan's movie? You know where Mahesh is. It is really hard to find out his weaknesses at this time. UTV and Warner Bros are going to produce his next movies which is a big deal for a telugu cinema hero.

So is Mahesh Babu our new Superstar? Its too early to say that. Even NTR and Pawan Kalyan were at this stage at some point of time. Ups and downs are common for Heroes so only time has to say. It took 120 movies for Chiranjeevi to become a MegaStar (Thought the first 60 films were small roles like second hero and villan roles).

May be we are waiting for someone who is still in the early stages like Ram Charan Teja or even Naga Chaithanya who is making his debut next year. Who knows? just like the time after NTR and ANR there were Krishna and Shobhan Babu who were big heros buy only after them did Chiranjeevi became a Megastar
