Year 2009 has come to an end and there are a few movies that made a mark on the box-office and telugu movie lovers. There are only a handful of movies that made good at the box-office. At least 100 movies were released and it's really easy to pick the best movies of the year. Obviously movies like Magadheera and Arundathi stand at the top position. If you closely observe there is nothing new in Magadheera or Arundathi. Old movies were made in a fresh way using extensive technical skills.

Kick is slightly different from routine but has good comedy. Konchem Istam Konchem Kastam got a decent response. Oye could have been better. Allu Arjun and Sukumar must be commended for their not so routine story and making of Arya2 though the movie got a mixed response.
Movies like Mahatma, Mallana, Mitrudu, mutli starrer Eenadu, Nagachaitanya's Josh were a disappointment.

So what's new and improved in 2009?
1. Magadheera and Arundathi proved that telugu industry is no less in Technical skills
2. Kick proved that right comedy and masala movie can still be good
3. There is still no originality in the stories of Telugu Cinema
4. Well made movie can bring a lot of money than ever (Magadheera)
5. Directors and Heroes are still not in a mood to make different movies but at least are trying (Arya2)
