Akkineni Nagarjuna, The Yuva Samrat of Telugu Cinema turns 50 today (Aug 29th 2009). Inspite of being the son of Legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao he has his own style and talent. A slow start (Vikram in 1986) did not discourage him. He acted in 70+ movies and is still continuing young. Nagarjuna is not just a good actor but also a smart human being. His choice of directors (introducing new talent) and stories made him more successful.

Nagarjuna

• has the credit of Introducing one of the top directors in India Ram Gopal Varma.
• is the only hero who acted in different kind of roles in the recent times. Examples include Annammayya and then a transition to do a youth film Super.
• is the only hero that does not mind doing a multi-starrer movie. He has done almost a second hero role in Srikanth, Soundarya movie Ninne Premistha. Super and Krishnarjuna are other examples
• is the only hero in Telugu Cinema that has most Bollywood straight films, Kuda Gawah, Shiva, Criminal, Zakham, Angaaray, Agni Varsha, LOC Kargil
• is at his best in Geetanjali, Shiva, Annamayya, Ninne Pelladutha, Manmadhudu
• is the only hero who has a straight film in Tamil Ratchagan (Dubbed to telugu as Rakshakudu)

Nagarjuna's acting was mostly for class audience until Allari Alludu. Allari Alludu changed his acting style completely to attract all classes of audience. Nagarjuna is going through a slow phase right now after Sriramadasu in 2006. Nag is still waiting for a hit.

This year will be an important for Nag as his son Nagachaitanya is making his entry to Telugu Cinema. Josh will release in September 3rd.

Nagarjuna is currently working on two movies.
